尽管 + fact，(S) + 还是/仍然/可是/却 + … | 尽管 + V (feel free to)

尽管…还是… is like 虽然…但是… but stronger and more formal: 尽管很累，他还是坚持把工作做完了. 尽管 concedes a real fact, not a hypothesis (for that, use 即使). The second clause often has 还是, 仍然, 可是 or 却. On its own before a verb, 尽管 is an adverb meaning 'feel free to, don't hesitate': 有问题尽管问我.

Examples

  • 尽管很累，他还是坚持把工作做完了。

    Despite being tired, he finished the work.

  • 尽管下着大雨，比赛仍然进行。

    Although it was pouring, the match went on.

  • 尽管我们做了很多准备，可是还是失败了。

    Although we prepared a lot, we still failed.

  • 有什么问题，你尽管问我。
