V + 来/去 | V + place + 来/去 | V + 来/去 + object / V + object + 来/去

来 after a verb means movement toward the speaker, 去 away from the speaker: someone downstairs calls 你下来吧, someone upstairs says 我下去. A place object must go between the verb and 来/去: 回家去, 进教室来 (not *回去家, *进来教室). A thing object can go between or after: 带一本书来 or 带来一本书. Always ask where the speaker is.
