把字句
The 把 construction: what is done to the object and with what result

The 把 sentence moves the object before the verb to stress what is done to it: 我把作业写完了. The object must be definite — the listener knows which one (not *把一本书). The verb cannot stand alone; it needs something after it: 了, a result or direction complement, 在/到/给 + place/person, or a reduplicated verb (把桌子擦擦). Negation and modal verbs go BEFORE 把: 我没把书带来, 你能把门关上吗. Verbs of feeling or cognition such as 喜欢, 知道, 觉得 cannot be used with 把.
Very common in HSK 3–4 sentence ordering and HSK 4 reading gap fills.
