时量补语

Duration complement: how long an action lasts or how long since it happened

HSK 3HSK 3.0 · 3

V + 了 + duration + (的) + O | V + O + V + 了 + duration | V(non-durative) + O + duration + 了

Duration follows the verb: 我学了两年汉语 (or repeat the verb: 我学汉语学了两年). A second, sentence-final 了 means the action is still continuing: 我学了两年了 'I've been studying for two years'. A pronoun object goes before the duration: 我等了你半个小时. With non-durative verbs like 来, 毕业, 结婚, 离开, the time expresses how long since the event: 他来北京五年了. For 'haven't done for X time', the duration precedes 没: 我三天没睡好了.
