幸亏 + fortunate circumstance，(S) + 才 + good result | 幸亏…，否则/不然 + bad consequence

幸亏 names a lucky factor that prevented a bad outcome: 幸亏带了伞，不然就淋湿了 'luckily I brought an umbrella, or I'd have got soaked'. The second clause typically uses 才 (幸亏…才… 'only thanks to that') or 否则/不然/要不 'otherwise'. 幸亏 is an adverb and may precede the subject; 幸好 is a synonym. In 幸亏…否则… sentences, remember the bad outcome did NOT happen.
