呢

Noun/Pronoun + 呢？ | Sentence with a question word + 呢？ | 在 + V + 呢
呢 has four basic uses. (1) After a noun or pronoun to bounce the same question back: 我很好，你呢？ 'and you?'. (2) To ask where something or someone is: 我的钥匙呢？ 'where are my keys?'. (3) At the end of a question-word question to soften it: 你在想什么呢？. (4) With 在 to mark an ongoing action: 他在睡觉呢。 Unlike 吗, 呢 does not turn a statement into a yes/no question.
Very common in HSK 1–2 short dialogues and question–answer matching.

I'm Vietnamese. What about you?
妈妈，我的手机呢？
Mom, where's my phone?
你在想什么呢？
What are you thinking about?
别打电话了，孩子在睡觉呢。
Stop calling, the child is sleeping.
