Questions 71–75: each item gives 3–6 shuffled words or phrases to arrange into one correct sentence, which you write out. The writing section has 15 minutes for 10 items: about 1.5 minutes each, leaving time for the character part.

Step 1: look for a grammar signal among the pieces – here “把”, so the frame is (subject) + 把 + object + verb + something more. Step 2: “请你” (please, you) opens a request, so it goes first. Step 3: the thing acted on, “空调” (the air conditioner), comes right after “把”, and the verb with its result, “关了” (switch off), ends the sentence. Result: “请你把空调关了。” (Please switch off the air conditioner.) “请你关了空调把” is impossible: in a 把 sentence the object always comes before the verb.

Step 1: “比那件” tells you it is a comparison: A + 比 + B + adjective + (difference). Step 2: A is the subject “这件衬衫” (this shirt); B is already inside the piece “比那件” (than that one). Step 3: then comes the adjective “贵” (expensive), and the amount of difference, “一百块” (100 yuan), always goes AFTER the adjective. Correct sentence: “这件衬衫比那件贵一百块。” A common mistake is “比那件一百块贵”; remember that the difference goes last.

Step 3: the time phrase “明天上午” (tomorrow morning) must come BEFORE the verb – either after the subject (“我们明天上午去银行”) or at the very start (“明天上午我们去银行”); both are correct. A typical mistake is to put the time at the end, as in Vietnamese or English: “我们去银行明天上午” is wrong.
