Questions 66–85: passages of 80–250 characters, each with 1–2 ★ questions and four options. This is the longest reading part: allow about 20–22 minutes, roughly one minute per question.

コツ

Read the ★ question first, then scan the passage for the relevant part. With two questions, the first usually refers to the first half.
Main-idea questions (这段话主要谈… / 作者想告诉我们…) rely on the first or last sentence, especially ones with 所以, 因此, 总之, 其实.
Correct options are paraphrases: 他从来没迟到过 ↔ 他很准时; 价格不到原来的一半 ↔ 便宜了很多.
Manage time: if a question takes more than 2 minutes, pick a provisional answer and flag it; the last passages are longer, so keep a reserve.

よくある落とし穴

Options with absolute words (一定, 都, 只, 完全, 从来) are usually wrong when the passage says 往往, 一般, 大多数.
Sensible in real life but not in the text: only choose what the passage states or directly implies.
Sino-Vietnamese words with reversed order: 热闹 (náo nhiệt), 语言 (ngôn ngữ), 命运 (vận mệnh), 简单 (đơn giản) — same meaning, reversed characters; do not misread them when skimming.

Step 1: read the question first – “根据这段通知，考生……” is a detail question, so check each option against the text. Step 2: “进考场的时候，要拿出护照或者身份证” (show your passport or ID card when entering) matches option C, so C is the answer. A is wrong because the text says “考试上午九点开始”; 8:30 is only the arrival time. B is wrong because phones must be “关机” (switched off) and “放在门口的桌子上” (left on the table by the door). D is the trap: candidates are refused only “考试开始十五分钟以后”, so someone less than 15 minutes late can still sit the test.

黎红是我们公司的翻译。有一次，一位中国客人来北宁谈生意，说他们想买“十五万”个杯子。黎红翻译成越南语的时候，说成了“一万五千”个。越南同事听了，觉得数量不多，就很快同意了价格。后来大家再检查的时候才发现，数字差了十倍。原来，越南人说大数字的时候，习惯三个零三个零地算，而中国人是四个零四个零地算。从那以后，黎红翻译数字的时候，都会先在纸上写下来，再请客人看一遍。

Li Hong is our company's interpreter. Once, a Chinese client came to Bac Ninh to do business and said they wanted to buy “十五万” (150,000) cups. When Li Hong translated this into Vietnamese, she said “fifteen thousand”. Hearing this, the Vietnamese colleagues thought the quantity was small and quickly agreed to the price. Only later, when everyone checked again, did they find that the numbers were ten times apart. It turned out that Vietnamese people count big numbers in groups of three zeros, while Chinese people count in groups of four zeros. Since then, whenever Li Hong translates numbers, she first writes them down on paper and then asks the client to look them over.

Step 1: find where the text mentions “同意了价格” – right before it: “越南同事听了，觉得数量不多，就很快同意了价格”. Step 2: they “觉得数量不多” (thought the quantity was small) because Li Hong mistranslated 十五万 as “fifteen thousand”, so the answer is B. A is wrong: the text never says the price was low, only talks about the quantity. C and D (Li Hong rushing them, knowing the client already) are not in the text at all. Tip: for a “为什么” question, the answer usually sits right before or right after the question's key words in the text.

The question says “这件事以后”, so look for “从那以后” (since then) at the end: “都会先在纸上写下来，再请客人看一遍” (she writes them down first, then asks the client to check). Option D sums this up with the same “先……再……” pattern, so D is correct. A, B and C sound reasonable but are never mentioned. Note for Vietnamese learners: 万 = 10,000, so 十五万 = 150,000, not 15,000 – the very trap in the story and a common mistake with numbers in reading texts.
