Tips
Questions 16–25: hear a simple question (about you, your family, hobbies, habits…) and answer it straight away. Each question is played once and you have about 15 seconds. The 10 items are worth about 30 of 100 points; complete, relevant answers with clear pronunciation score high.
- Answer in a full sentence, reusing the question's words and replacing only the question word: 你家在哪儿?→ 我家在河内。 你有几个中国朋友?→ 我有两个中国朋友。
- Identify the question type instantly: 吗 → reuse the verb (会 / 不会, 有 / 没有); 还是 → pick one option; A-not-A (忙不忙、难不难) → answer one side; 什么 / 哪儿 / 几 / 谁 → fill exactly that slot.
- Swap pronouns when you reuse the question: 你 → 我, 你的 → 我的, 你们 → 我们. Forgetting this is the most common way to lose points.
- For a higher score add one short, safe sentence: a reason (因为……), a time, a feeling. Example: 我会做饭,我常常做越南菜。 You don't need long, complex sentences.
- Catch time words: 昨天 / 上次 → verb + 了 or 过; 一般 / 每天 → habits; 多长时间 asks “how long” (二十分钟), not “what time”.
- You don't have to tell the truth: give the answer you can say most accurately (forget the dish? say 面条; forget the job? say 老师).
